This lovely vintage Chinese souvenir fishbowls is beautifully made. The ground of eggshell porcelain and richly and-painted enamels makes this a charming piece to use and display.
The base marks indicate that these are Chinese Swatow Enamels (Cai), made in a famille style as Swatow enamelware is traditionally associated with the nearby province of Guangzhou, made circa 1970s.
Rich gilt accents and motifs depicting a heavenly fairy/ celestial maiden complete the design. One especially nice detail is the handpainted goldfish within the fishbowl; not to mention its custom box.
Price marked at AUD$140 . Measurements: 8.5cm dia., 6.5cm high. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Bow and base show light signs of wear.
