A fine vintage Balinese old teak carved bust of a lady, carved in Batubalan circa early to mid 20th century, possibly by the Irawa family or one of the noted makers at the time. Batubulan is a small village in Bali that is renowned for its Barong dances and the quality of woodcarving. The timber here is of a stunning dark grain with the rich hues signature to teak of this age and quality, and the statue is beautifully carved with fine details to her sarong and her flower headdress.
