Vintage 20th century Crackle Glaze Vase in Song Dynasty Style
Vintage 20th century Crackle Glaze Vase in Song Dynasty Style
This crackle glaze vase style originates from the Song Dynasty (AD 960–1279), with the Guan kiln being particularly known for its beautiful glazes and crackle finishes. Real Gu Vases are exceedingly rare, with most of them in museums. However during the Qing dynasty and for some time after, vases in this style were exceedingly desirable and were reproduced. This is a fine example of a relatively contemporary style circa the 20th century. With unmarked base, this particular piece has a lovely celadon glaze and crackle glaze pattern. A substantial size and in excellent vintage condition.
Price is marked at $300AUD (stand sold separately).
Measurements: 31cm high, 21 cm across at widest point.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with some wear to base as pictured.
