Stunning QEII Stuart Devlin sterling silver and gilt goblet with marks for London, 1981, Stuart Devlin. All the hallmarks of quality with triangular bowl, ornate Prince of Wales feathered plumes issuant from a crown and gilt interior. The circular foot is inscribed "HRH Prince of Wales. Lady Diana Spencer. 29 July 1981."
Made by renowned midcentury silversmith Stuart Devlin- an Australian silversmith who would later move to England and become one of the finest post-war silversmiths in the country. He was Prime Warden of the Goldsmiths Company from 1996 to 1997.
This was number 177 of a limited edition run of 950 made to commemorate the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981
Price marked at $4000 AUD.
Measurements: 18.7 cm length. Bowl diameter 7.4cm. 326.5 grams total weight.
Excellent antique condition with light wear commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
