A stunning Korean enamel and pure silver condiment set circa 1960s, marked and tested as .99 silver purity. Featuring two condiment containers, original spoons and undertray, all made from .99 silver.
Enameled throughout with the Chinese character for longevity, a popular motif in Korean art due to China’s historic influence on Korean art and culture.
Of exceptional quality, the rich enamelling and high silver purity of this piece indicates that this was made for households of extremely high status. Silver has traditionally always been highly prized in the Korean Peninsula, and traditionally noble families would include silver utensils such as spoons or chopsticks as part of their daughters’ dowry.
