Rare late 19th century Royal Worcester blue and white double-handled porcelain vase c.1900-1910
Rare late 19th century Royal Worcester blue and white double-handled porcelain vase c.1900-1910
A stunning and rare late 19th century Royal Worcester blue and white double-handled porcelain vase with printed factory mark, c.1900-1910.
Royal Worcester of course is one of the oldest still existing porcelain manufacturers in England (and indeed worldwide), and its name is synonymous with excellence.
The intricate white porcelain motifs speak for themselves, with well-moulded handles and bands on the upper body of the vase. Blue and white Persian inspired motifs hand-painted throughout in a lovely moody cobalt hue. The body itself is very much chinoiserie-inspired, with a shape highly reminiscent of Kangxi period porcelains. Very rare and we have not seen another example of this vase.
Price marked at $1750 AUD
Measurements: 28cm height, approximately 15cm diameter at widest point.
Excellent antique condition overall, one firing flaw within neck that does not go all the way through and is not visible from outside.
