Everything is coming up sixes with this pair of dice. Stamped with sterling silver marks for Taxco, Mexico circa 1960s, these check all the boxes. Interest in midcentury silver is at an all time high, particularly that produced during the heyday of Taxco silver (1940s to 70s). Post-war consumption was at an all-time high in America, while luxury production in Europe remained relatively low.

Meanwhile, the advent of the “jetset” lifestyle meant that from the 1950s onwards, film stars and socialites made the beach resorts of Mexico famous. Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Orson Welles and the Kennedys all visited Acapulco, and other affluent tourists were quick to follow. Naturally, souvenirs crafted by the best silversmiths in Mexico would accompany them home.

Price marked at $280 AUD for the pair.
