The Mini Maton Diesel Model, also known as the Maton EMD-6, is a “small bodied guitar with a very big voice” which retails at $2,699.00 AUD. Maton remains a family-owned, Melbourne-based company that builds solid-wood acoustic guitars to the highest standards using a range of Australian native timbers. This model features an "AA Select" Grade Solid Sitka Spruce top, solid blackwood back and sides, an AP5 PRO pickup system, gold grover machine heads, and a Vintage Amber Stain. Founded in the 1930s, Maton is still the guitar of choice for artists including John Butler, Keith Urban, Tommy Emmanuel, Alberto Lombardi and Paul Kelly, with a distinctive sound created through using timbers unique to Australian. This would be an excellent choice for a travel guitar, or as a smaller guitar with less bulk and with unique range and projection signature to Maton.
