Here we have a fantastic bulbous vase with an almost glowing lava finish on a highly glazed brown, orange & mottled earth toned base. Produced by the small factory of Walter Gerhards, West Germany in the 1960s. Due to the thickness of glaze it is indistinctly marked to the base 277-15, but identified by shape from Mark Hills’ Fat Lava book (Fourth Edition) page 173. An excellent piece for collectors of retro and midcentury pottery.
Price marked at AUD$250. Max Diameter: Approx 15cm tall, 15cm across at widest point. The vase is in very good vintage condition, it has some wear to base as pictured. Some flecks and firing imperfections due to the nature of this glaze.
