Midcentury English sterling silver compact with gold, sapphires and diamonds to clasp. David Sutton & Sons, London.
A beautiful midcentury English sterling silver compact with engine-turned details in a geometric sunburst pattern. The clasp is untested but we believe this to be 9 carat gold set with sapphires and diamonds. With a gilt-washed interior, each component shows craftsmanship and attention to detail. Marks for David Sutton & Sons, London makers that were active circa 1946-1951. An exceptional piece with quality well above average.
Price marked at $1250 AUD.
Measurements: 8 by 8cm, 1cm high.
Excellent antique condition with minor wear commensurate with age. Clasp is secure. Traces of original powder to interior.
