This mid to late 19th century Chinese snuff bottle is one of the rarest pieces we have ever seen. We believe this to be a true 19th century original turtle-form snuff bottle, with a later associated stopper.
It is a beautifully hand-carved rock crystal with a well hollowed interior, it is an absolutely lovely piece.
This form and material is highly desirable particularly with this level of carving and translucency. The finely carved butterfly motif on it makes it one of the finest examples we have come across.
Price marked at AUD$2800. Measurements: 7.5 length, 3.4cm height. Total weight 74.5 grams. Condition: Excellent antique condition, some light wear to exterior.
