Beautiful mid to late 19th century Chinese export silver sandwich box, with marks (WH90) for .900 silver purity, maker’s mark for Wang Hing, one of the great makers of Chinese export silver.
According to Von Ferscht’s definitive book on Chinese export silver (pg, 293), this stamp can be attributed to Wang Hing (Canton and Hong Kong, 1854-1941).
Finely made from solid silver, while there is wear and tear from the ages, it is a substantial and collectible piece. .
