Lovely Victorian Tartan Ware Sewing Case / Thimble Holder, Stuart Pattern
Lovely Victorian Tartan Ware Sewing Case / Thimble Holder, Stuart Pattern
This lovely late 19th century tartanware case is rather special piece. While tartanware is generally desirable and sewing items particularly so, this is a charming example where a thimble is at the base of the case.
A bobbin holder is attached to the other end; this would have been a lovely and practical souvenir back in the day. A charming and distinctive pattern too, done in the Stuart clan tartan.
