Set of Victorian Sugar Tongs, Provincial English Silver. Josiah Williams & Co, Exeter, 1878.

An elegant set of tongs with thick gauge and crisp hallmarks. Made by Josiah Williams & Co, with assay marks for Exeter, 1878.. A rare bit of provincial English silver, all the moreso as this was assayed in the Exeter office’s final years before it closed in 1882.  

A nicely monogrammed “H” to the bow.
