This lovely late Qing vase is a special piece.
Hand painted with a copper red glaze with foliate scrolls, stylised blossoms and archaic shou characters in gold. (Shou traditional means a wish for auspicious longevity).
The beautifully executed foliate scrolls and stylised blossoms are certainly the focal point of this vase; they are likely stylised lotus blossoms and are skilfully done.
The pottery mark is likely apocryphal and states that it was made in the reign of the emperor Qianlong; judging from the silhouette and glaze we believe this to be from the later Qing period, most likely late 19th century.

Dimensions: 29cm high, 18 cm at widest part of vase.
Condition: very good antique condition overall with some wear to gilt on rim of vase, and loss of glaze to one shou mark on neck as pictured.
