Carved from a single tusk, this lovely piece depicts a scene of two lions and an elephant in procession. The adult lion is seizing the elephant's tail in its mouth in an attempt to rescue its cub, which is being held aloft by the elephant. A dynamic and interesting piece which takes full advantage of the tusk's innate shape to convey a story.
