High Victorian Kings Pattern Cheese Scoop, Chawner & Co George Adams Period. London 1869
High Victorian Kings Pattern Cheese Scoop, Chawner & Co George Adams Period. London 1869
A very fine and rare piece, especially in this condition and in this part of the world. Made by Chawner & Co. during the George Adams period, one of our favourite firms and makers. Chawner & Co. were fine and prolific makers, supplying retailers such as Hunt & Roskell, R.& S. Garrard & Co & Elkington & Co.
Made in the Kings pattern, it is of an extremely thick gauge and well-marked. The scoop is double struck with pattern on both the front and back, always a testament to Adams’ craftsmanship. Un-monogrammed and ready to do your dining table justice.
Price marked at $1500 AUD.
Measurements: 23.5cm length. 115 grams weight. Marks for Chawner & Co (George Adams), London, 1869.
Excellent antique condition.
