High Victorian crested provincial silver mustard spoon, with marks for Exeter, 1852, Josiah Williams & Co. Crested with a cross crosslet fitched gu. which belongs to the Abernethy family, a Scottish clan of great nobility and lineage dating to the 13th century.

A rare bit of provincial English silver, all the moreso as this was assayed in the Exeter office before it closed in 1882.

Measurements: 10cm length, 9.1 grams.
Very good antique condition. Thick gauge and well-struck hallmarks; maker's mark rubbed but legible.
