An elegant Edward VII sterling silver and cut glass British Art Nouveau rouge or pill box with marks for Birmingham, 1909, William Vale & Sons. They were active from 1896 to the 1920s, and their premises were on Unett Street, Birmingham. Noted makers who also exhibited at the British Industries Fair in 1929.

This is a lovely example of British Art Nouveau, with stylized blue and green enamel accents hearkening to the earlier Arts and Crafts movement, with the floral repousse motifs adding a touch of charm. Luxurious gilded interior to top.


Price marked at $500 AUD.

Measurements:4.5cm diameter, 2.7 cm height. 7.1 grams silver weight.

Minor dings and blemishes to top as pictured, as well as wear to enamel as pictured. Otherwise good antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age, with marks crisp and clear.
