Here we have a beautiful set of Norwegian enamel and silver silver salt and pepper shakers with silver-plated tray with marks for David Andersen, circa early to mid 20th century. Founded in Oslo by David Andersen in 1876, the firm enjoyed early success due to Andersen’s excellent craftsmanship, having two retail locations in Oslo by 1892. His son Arthur would succeed him in 1901 and his exquisite enamelled designs were a roaring success, becoming the firm’s design signature. The firm remains active today as a a family business.

The elegant green and white guilloche enamel on these shakers’ lids are exquisitely done with engine-turned details and are marked and tested as sterling silver; the bodies of both shakers are made from cut glass. The original silver-plated under tray is a charming touch.

Price marked at $400 AUD.
