Vintage near Antique 1920s to 1930s British Raj Anglo-Indian sterling silver tankard, Calcutta silver

A lovely substantial 1920s to 1930s British Raj Anglo-Indian sterling silver tankard that bears characteristics of Calcutta silver, featuring intricate hand-hammered details as well as beautiful repousse work.

Calcutta silver features beautifully depicted village as well as hunting and jungle scenes; here we see in the back panel a villager tending to an elephant. Not far away, villagers are leading their lives tending to fields. The cartouche on this piece has been left blank and has stylish Art Deco esque details; perfect for one to inscribe their own initials on.
