A fine antique sterling silver box with gilt-washed interior circa early 20th century, hallmarked SIL which was used to indicate sterling silver purity in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa; we believe this most likely originates from Australia.

Beautifully made with border details and meticulously engraved motifs; the central cartouche is blank.

Price marked at $180 AUD.

Measurements 2.5 by 3.5cm base , 1 cm height. 9grams.

Very good antique condition light wear commensurate with age.
