Lovely antique Victorian sterling silver milk jug with maker’s marks by William Marshall & Sons circa 1840, Edinburgh.
A lovely and rare piece, featuring the second mark used by the firm and was used from 1822 to 1866.
William Marshall & Sons were Goldsmiths to Her Majesty the Queen, H.R.H. the Princess Louise, The Royal Company of Archers, and the Royal Caledonian Hunt. A well-shaped and substantial piece in overall good condition, with much of the gilt-washed interior remaining intact.

A very desirable example of Scottish and early Victorian antique silver.

Price marked at $2000 AUD.
Measurements: 12.5cm diameter at widest point, 16cm high. 344.6 grams total weight.
Very good antique condition, with wear to marks as pictured but still legible. Minor gilt loss and overall wear commensurate with age.
