Small vintage “John Peel” Royal Doulton toby jug circa 1939-18955,designed by Harry Fenton. John Peel was a famous huntsman who was active in Cumbria for 4 decades, and was immortalised in a poem by Robert Graves.
Marked A to base as well as Royal Doulton backstamp which denotes a Georgian clay body, and toby jugs were only marked as such during 1939-1955. The toby jug design was issued between 1936 to 1960.

Measurements: approximately 6.5cm tall.
Excellent vintage condition overall commensurate with age.
