A fine late 19th century Austrian silver and cut glass claret jug. Beautifully made and the silver mounts are hallmarked for .800 silver purity, the town mark for Prague and the .800 silver mark circa 1867-1872. Maker’s mark for T.P.
Beautifully etched patterns to the glass with floral and fern motifs, and a charming pinecone finial to the top.
With its smaller size, this claret jug would be ideal for port, sherry and other liqueurs. This would also be excellent for one’s breakfast table such as for maple syrup.
Price marked at $550 AUD.
Measurements: 22cm height, 8.5cm base diameter.
Excellent antique condition. Light remnants of gilt to interior.
