A fine large 20th century Balinese statuette of the Hindu saint Maharshi, depicted in the Balinese tradition. He is associated with the gods Hanuman and Vigneswara, and is mentioned in the Ramayana. This is a particularly fine carving which well depicts his face as well as his Intricate headdress, carved from solid teak.
Price marked at $600 AUD. Measurements: 48 cm high. Solid teak. One crack to right side of headdress which has been repaired and is barely noticeable. Otherwise good vintage condition.
