Lovely antique George IV sterling silver fish slice with marks for William Bateman I, London, 1822. Bateman was a prominent silversmith in his own right and as grandson of Hester Bateman, part of the prestigious Bateman silversmithing dynasty.

A handsome piece, well-engraved with beautiful pierced pattern featuring a central fish motif. Substantial gauge with crisp marks overall. Monogrammed WMW to ABG on the handle.

Excellent antique condition overall; rubbing to maker’s mark but still legible.
