Lovely pair of antique Anglo-Indian Lucknow silver salt cellars, circa late 19th century. Beautifully made with intricate repousse motifs of stylised florals and animals.Antique Indian silver is characterised by its intricate repousse work, which was a painstaking process which required both time and skill. Lucknow ware is distinguished by its usage of motifs from other regions, as well as depictions of village and jungle life.
One is missing its original glass liner but could be used for other spices; alternatively these salt cellars make excellent trinket dishes.

Very good antique condition overall. Some minor wear and light dings to bottom of salt cellars. One glass lining missing as described above.
