Here we have a lovely early 20th century 18ct white gold and diamond wreath bar brooch by William Drummond & Co., Melbourne. Circa Art Deco period 1920s to 30s.
Founded in 1858, W.M. Drummond & Co was one of Melbourne’s most prestigious luxury retailers, having made brooches for the Queen Mother as well as HRH Queen Elizabeth II in the 1950s. Closing in 1978, their pieces still remain highly collectible as part of Australian history.
This lovely brooch features a central 0.20 carat (20 points) mine cut diamond with good fire and colour, with three single cut diamonds in the wreath details, for a total of 0.27 carats. C-Clasp closure which was common in the late 19th to early 20th century. Hallmarks for W.M. Drummond and Co, as well as 18ct gold purity.
