1930s Clarice Cliff Art Deco "My Garden" floral pedestal vase, Sunset Colourway
1930s Clarice Cliff Art Deco "My Garden" floral pedestal vase, Sunset Colourway
Clarice Cliff (1899–1972) is a name that needs little to no introduction in the world of pottery. Her decade long career saw her become the best known female ceramic artist in the world in her heyday, with her name almost synonymous with British Art Deco pottery. This vase is a lovely example of her “My Garden” series in the Sunrise colourway.
Working closely with the Newport Pottery works, she later established her own studio which was immediately popular with the public. Her work remains hotly desired today.
This particular vase is a lovely example of her work, and is circa 1937 to 1948. Brightly coloured flowers surround the moulded body, with a delicate green suffusing the top of the vase. Embossed early Clarice Cliff signature to bottom.
Price marked at $300 AUD.
