Antique Victorian sterling silver Dobbie & Co. medal

An antique Victorian 1886 sterling silver Dobbie & Co. medal, with marks for Birmingham, 1899, W.G. & S.. Engraved around obverse rim “Presented by Dobbie & Co. Seed Growers & Florists To The Queen”, and a later cartouche added with date of 23.12.86 to the reverse. Based in Rothesay, Scotland, Dobbie & Co. was founded by James Dobbie in 1875. His Springfield Nursery was situated off High Street.

Price marked at $250 AUD.

Measurements: 38mm diameter, 21.1grams.

Very good antique condition, marks lightly rubbed but legible. Later cartouche as described, otherwise light wear overall commensurate with age.
