Antique sardonyx shell cameo brooch depicting the Roman god Diana, with the contrasting layers of shell enhancing her profile, lunar headdress and her distinctive quiver of arrows. The brooch is circa mid to late 19th century and the cameo is of that period if not older. Unmarked but setting likely gold-filled.

Measurements: 4.5cm width, 6cm length.

Excellent antique condition, some light wear overall commensurate with age. Rollover clasp and safety chain which may have been a later replacement.
