Antique Qing dynasty archaistic tripod incense censor circa 19th century, with apocryphal Ming dynasty Xuande period mark. The base is inscribed Da Ming Xuan De Ji, which means made in the reign period of Great Ming’s Xuande Emperor. Such inscriptions were popular during the Qing period as a sign of respect towards the artistic skill of Ming Dynasty craftsmen.

Such pieces are increasingly rare and are highly desirable. With its bombe-form body which we believe to be brass, archaistic handles and tripod feet, this pieces exhibits classic characterics of Qing tripod censers.

Price marked at $900 AUD.

Measurements: Approx. 11.7cm base diameter, 10cm height including handles.

Overall good antique condition with one ding to the side, as well as heavy patina which we have left as is.
