Antique Meiji Period Japanese boxwood bird figural netsuke, signed

Beautiful Meiji Period Japanese boxwood netsuke carved as a bird in the katabori or sculpture style, with inset stone eyes. Of excellent quality with well-carved feathers and the exquisite little bird well-suits being carved “in the round”. Signed to the base in red lacquer on inset plaque.
