This lovely elephant motif ivory box, likely Meiji Period Japanese, is a beautiful little thing. The exquisite work and carefully rounded interior speaks to the high level of craftsmanship. In particular the etched details of the elephants make this likely produced in Tokyo circa late 19th century. An exquisite and timeless piece.
