The vesta is slightly dented out of shape overall and has some surface bruising as is highly common with vesta cases of any age. Some wear to hallmarks.

Overall still a lovely piece, with etched swirls and complete with a modern but associated belcher chain of solid construction. It hangs from a split ring which could be useful to hang charms from as well. Lid still working in good order.

Hallmarks indicate that this was made in 1905, Birmingham and was made by Albert Jackson. He had started his business together with his brother William Jackson and they traded as the Jackson Brothers, manufacturing jewellers, Albion Street, Birmingham.

Their partnership dissolved in 1899 and business continued by Albert Jackson as a sole trader who was listed in telephone directories until at least 1975.

Sterling weight of 38.9 grams.

Measurements: Vesta approximately 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm. Chain approx 60 cm length.

Price marked at $380 AUD.
