Antique Edwardian 24 piece cased set of Kings Pattern sterling silver fish forks and knives, with marks for Sheffield, 1903, James Dixon & Sons. A fine and prolific maker, the firm’s premises at that time were on Cornish Place, Sheffield. James Dixon & Sons Ltd was active from 1871 to 2004, and was known as one of the foremost names in Victorian silverware.

Beautiful timber case, sumptuously lined in blue silk, with two velvet-lined compartments within containing 24 fish forks and knives to serve 12 people. The fish forks and knives are in the Kings Pattern to both sides, with tines, blades, ferrules and weighted handles all bearing assay marks for sterling.


Price marked at $2400 AUD the set.

Case measurements: 7cm height, 38.5cm by 29cm base measurements.

Fish forks 19cm length, 646grams total approximate weight (including weighted handles).

Fish knives 21.5cm length , 748 grams total approximate weight (including weighted handles).

Excellent antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age.
