Antique Early to Mid Century Viennese .812 Silver Poodle Novelty Dish
Antique Early to Mid Century Viennese .812 Silver Poodle Novelty Dish
This whimsical early to mid century Viennese silver novelty dish has a myriad of uses. Produced during the sunset splendour of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this piece is stamped with the Viennese cross-shield with silver fineness enloth; marked 13 loth under the old European metallurgy system, this equal .812 purity.
Due to the finial pin being positioned through the assay mark, the exact date reads 18X3. As this particular town mark for Vienna was used circa 1807-1866, this further narrows the range to 1813-1863.
This would make a lovely key or trinket dish, as well as a novelty ring holder.
Price marked at $450 AUD.
