Beautiful antique Minton cup circa 1874 cup and saucer as found. A most unusual colour and design, with clear Oriental influence.
Most intriguingly, at some point in time this was clearly so well loved that despite a disastrous fall, someone spent significant time and effort to have this repaired via staples.
There are approximately 9 staple repairs to the cup and 4 to the saucer. This would have represented a significant expense back in the day and speaks to how fond the owner was of this cup (as well as its value!).
