Antique Chinese export tray with marks for C.J. Co for the China Jewelry Company

A beautiful antique Chinese export tray with marks for C.J. Co for the China Jewelry Company, circa late 19th to early 20th century. Marked and tested for silver between .800 to .900 silver purity.

China Jewelry Company was a retail silversmith in Shanghai active from 1880 to 1940, and this elegant tray with beautiful planished background and elegantly engraved bamboo motifs is a fine example of their work. Mongrammed FJS of the period within central cartouche.

Price marked at $3300  AUD.

Measurements: 25cm length, 502 grams.

Minor wear commensurate with age, otherwise good antique condition. Marks clear and legible.
