Absolutely stunning antique Chinese export silver dragon-form handled teapot with gilt-washed interior, made by Kwan Wo circa 1900s to 1910s, .900 silver purity. Kwan Wo was an important maker and retailer active 1870 to 1925, based in Canton as well as possibly Hong Kong. Artisan mark for Yi An (怡安), who produced excellent work retailed by some of the best known firms including Luen Wo.

They were known for the organic nature of their designs, and this particular teapot is remarkable for its single sinuously designed dragon which wraps around the entire teapot, merging seamlessly from handle to body.

Its dimensionality as well as excellent ergonomics makes this one of the finer examples of Chinese export silver teapots we have seen.

Price marked at $3500 AUD.
