A practical and rare brass tinder box from the 18th century.
Back in the day, this would have been used to store kindling for lighting fires, such as spare bits of paper. Still eminently suitable for its intended purposes for those with wood fireplaces, but could also be used to store cards, trinkets and small keepsakes.
This was used as a featured piece in an upcoming short documentary film; details to come soon.
In very good antique condition with some wear and patina commensurate with age.
Dimensions: 11 cm length, 6 cm width, approximately 1.5 cm high.
