5 early Victorian English provincial silver spoons with marks for Josiah Gregory, Exeter, 1845
Beautiful set of 5 early Victorian English provincial silver spoons with marks for Josiah Gregory, Exeter, 1845.
A rare bit of provincial English silver, all the moreso as this was assayed in the Exeter office’s final years before it closed in 1882. While this was assayed at the Bristol office, Josiah Gregory was active in Bristol; his marks are therefore not often seen in conjunction with Exeter assay marks, making this a particularly collectible set of English provincial silver. Elegantly monogrammed ‘ALL” to the handles.
Price marked at $550 AUD for the set.
Measurements: 15 cm length. 93.9 grams total weight.
Excellent antique condition with light wear overall commensurate with age.
