19th century Antique Chinese Transcluent Agate Snuff Bottle
Antique Chinese snuff bottle carved from a single piece of agate with excellent transclucent colouration. The shape indicates that this is likely to be late 19th century to early 20th century. Really lovely topper made from an apple green jadeite stone.
Since antiquity moss agate has been highly prized in different cultures, fashioned in to jewellery and status symbols by Victorians. In China a single large agate of this size would have been carefully kept and carved to display its translucent qualities.

Measurements 7.5cm high by 5cm wide. 2 cm deep.
Excellent antique condition. Spoon intact, albeit wear consistent with age.
