This vintage near antique carved African ivory tribal tusk circa 1920s to 1930s is a rare and substantial piece. It is one of the largest and finest pieces of ivory we have seen; an African Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) piece that would have been produced prior to World War II (1939). It displays the magnificent sheen and glossy grain signature to African ivory. The interior and exterior grain has been used to remarkable effect in carving the features and hair of this tribal bust.

Measurements: Height 26cm from base to tip, base measurements. 6 by 6.7 cm (oblong base). Weight approx 623grams.

Very good near antique condition. It has several stable hairline splits commensurate with antique ivory.
