A beautiful late 19th century .950 French silver tastevin of rare shape with exceptional provenance, engraved with inscription “Bordeaux 3 Aout 1887 // Prince Leon Galitzin”, which translated would be Bordeaux 3rd August 1887 //  Prince Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyns (1845-1915) a scion of Russia’s second largest and noblest princely house. Assay marks for .950 silver purity, Paul Tonnelier (1882-1889) who was descended from a long line of silversmiths and worked on 325 Blvd St Martin, Paris.

This would be of interest to oenophiles, collectors of Russian silver and anyone interested in Russian imperial history.

Price marked at $5000 AUD.

Measurements: 2.3cm height, 11 cm base diameter. 168grams total weight including base.

Excellent antique condition, with light wear and small superficial dings overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and legible. Wear to original suede leather base.
