A beautiful crested George III sterling silver basting spoon with marks for London, 1801, Richard Crossley.
Substantial and of thick gauge, this is a stunning piece with the handle engraved with the blazon of a cockerel surrounded by a buckle, with the motto Semper Idem. Based upon research, this armorial is potentially related to Thomas Harttree Cornish or William Cockburn, as found in the National Library of New Zealand's collection of heraldic bookplates.
