Antique Victorian sterling silver star sweetheart brooch

NOW SOLD. Late 19th century Victorian Aesthetic Movement sterling silver sweetheart brooch. Such brooches, made circa the 1880s, were highly popular with romantic motifs inspired by the Aesthetic movement which was then en vogue.

Central motif of a star and beaded Etruscan Revival border detail.

With original C clasp and base metal pin, this is a beautiful example of Victorian silver jewellery and is highly collectible.

Price marked at $120 AUD.

Measurements: 2cm diameter.

Missing glass to back, otherwise excellent antique condition. Unmarked but tests as sterling silver which is common to these particular pieces of this period.
