Vintage US WWII USAAF Pilot Wings sterling silver brooch, AE Co.

A rare and lovely vintage US WWII USAAF Pilot Wings sterling silver brooch made by the American Emblem Company (A.E. Co) which was located in Utica, New York.
These would have been worn by pilots in the USA Air Force during the 1930s to 1940s; these may have been continued to be in use throughout later decades for dress uniform, other combat theatres etc. The American Emblem Company was active from 1913 to 1963, producing emblems for all branches of military service throughout its history.
