Late 19th century Victorian Aesthetic Movement sterling silver sweetheart brooch. Such brooches, made circa the 1880s, were highly popular with romantic motifs inspired by the Aesthetic movement which was then en vogue.
Central motif of a dove, a popular romantic motif at the time, and beaded Etruscan Revival border detail.
With original C clasp and base metal pin, this is a beautiful example of Victorian silver jewellery and is highly collectible.

Measurements: 3.5cm diameter.
Missing glass to back, otherwise excellent antique condition. Unmarked but tests as sterling silver which is common to these particular pieces of this period.
